Ovarian cancer is one of the most common cancers in women.

Unfortunately the symptoms of ovarian cancer, such as being bloated or feeling full easily, are often associated with other health issues such as IBS, and it can therefore go undiagnosed for some time. Early detection is key to survival rates. Our ovarian cancer screen is carried out by one of our highly qualified GPs, who will take the time to listen to you, and understand any symptoms you may have. They will carry out a number of blood tests to help identify early indicators of the disease. Specifically, they will carry out a CA125 blood test and a HE4 ROMA blood test. An ovarian cancer health check-up costs £350.

Our check-up includes:

  • Comprehensive consultation with our GP
  • Personal medical report
  • Full medical history
  • Lifestyle assessment
  • Physical examination
  • Height, weight, urine & BMI check
  • Blood pressure and pulse
  • Diabetes/anaemia risk
  • CVD risk
  • Thyroid/liver/cholesterol risk
  • Advice on self breast examination

Our detailed blood analysis includes:

  • Full blood count, ESR, full biochemistry profile/cholesterol check – HDL/LDL/thyroid profile and HE4/CA 125/ROMA

CA 125 Blood Test

A CA125 blood test, measures the levels of CA125 in your blood. CA125 is a protein which is associated with ovarian cancer. High levels can indicate ovarian cancer, although this is not always the case and it can be associated with other conditions such as endometriosis and fibroids.

HE4 (ROMA)

HE4 is a new marker for ovarian cancer; high levels are seen in those with ovarian cancer. When HE4 is combined with CA125, it increases the sensitivity for finding ovarian cancer. ROMA – a risk of ovarian malignancy algorithm – classifies patients as being at high or low risk of the disease using both the CA 125 and HE4 results.
